In many people's opinion 5 weight rods are the best rod for all round fishing. Sight fishing to cruising trout, dries and nymphs from a boat or pulling small wets all work perfectly with a 5 weight. Load your 5 up with a heavier line if fishing into the wind or want to deliver a fly quickly when polaroiding. You can also stream fish effectively with dries or nymphs. And if you want to catch some of the smaller estuary species look at your 'five' to do the job.
